Nawalgarh, Jhunjhunu Shekhawati Rajasthan
Nawalgarh is a town of Jhunjhunu district and is part of Panchpana, this Thikana was established by Thakur Nawal Singh Ji Bahadur of Shekhawat clan in 1737 AD. He got the region from his father Maharao Shardul Singh Ji - the ruler of Jhunjhunu. Thakur Nawal Singh Ji and his descendants were lover of art which is visible in the Nawalgarh fort and other buildings built by them. Marwari community was also very aggressive in building various mansions, and temples in the town. The town of Nawalgarh is situated in the heart of Shekhawati , it is midway Jhujhunu-Sikar Road. There is a heritage hotel run in the Roop Niwas Kothi. These days Nawalgarh is famous for various colleges and schools. All these institutions were built in 20th century by the Marwari Community. Seth GB Poddar College is a famous destination for students.
Places to Visit in Nawalgarh:
1- There are two forts in Nawalgarh, the first is Bala Kila Fort and the other one is Fatehgarh Fort. These forts are built in such a manner that one is within the town limits and the latter is on outskirts of the town. Bala Kila Fort has four gates and a strong boundary, which was a part of war strategies in prevailing times in the past.
2-Then there is Roop Niwas Kothi built by Thakur Roop Singh Ji Bahadur, this building is now converted in to a heritage hotel.
3- Sheesh Mahal, Murarka Haveli, Bansidhar Bhagat Haveli, Chokhani Haveli, Morarka Haveli, Anandi lal Poddar Haveli, Ramdev Ji Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Ganesh Temple, Gopinath Ji Temple, Kalyan Ji Temple, Surya Temple, Narsimha Temple, Shiva Temple are other places of tourist interest.
How to Reach Nawalgarh:
Nawalgarh is directly connected with rail and Road, Nawalgarh Railway station is situated on Delhi-Loharu-Jaipur railway line. The railway line is recently converted from meter gauge to broad gauge.
Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation has inaugurated a bus depot in Nawalgarh recently. This facilitates the commuter with direct connectivity with New Delhi and Major cities of Rajasthan.
The nearest international Airport is in Jaipur, other option is IGI Airport of New Delhi.
